Fluffy is a medium size male, approx. 3-4 years old. He was paralysed following a traffic accident and lay on the street for several days before someone took him into their yard. Although they saved him and did their best for him he’s clearly living a pitiful existence dragging himself around in the dirt at constant risk of infection.
Other than his obvious disability he is apparently in good health aside he’s lost his left eye but this was a while back.
My good friend Kerry runs Disabled Dog Rescue and has had a lot of luck in the past finding good homes in Europe or the US for disabled doggies but as yet we’ve had no one come forward for Fluffy. We have transport leaving Romania at the end of February and the transporter travels back through Europe enroute to the UK so Fluffy could be collected at any point along that main route if a place were found.
We are looking for either a forever home or a foster home which would buy us time whilst we look for a permanent home. We just want him out of Romania as he cannot receive the care he needs there. We would provide a mobility cart for him but should anyone come forward they would need to be prepared for looking after a disabled dog. This would mean their house would require lots of flat surfaces for him to get around on (when in and out of his cart) and they’d have to be prepared to change his nappies and wash him daily. Help and advice would of course be in abundance! Although disabled, Fluffy has the will to live a full and happy life and just needs that chance!
