Healing HEART Sanctuary is an animal sanctuary specifically designed to care for injured or disabled rescued animals. During the time the animals are rehabilitating at Healing HEART Sanctuary they also get the privilege of working local children facing physical, mental or emotional challenges. The interaction between the animals and children enhances the well-being of both. We can all learn from how the animals handle tragedy with grace and dignity while never loosing their joy of being alive. Animals come to Healing HEART Sanctuary from all over the country. Because of the somewhat delicate nature of injured or disabled animals, most must be transported by auto verses flying. A new vehicle, especially with wheelchair assist, could not only help us by being dependable and lower on gas mileage but also help us get heavier injured animals into the vehicle without harming them, or ourselves. We would also have the opportunity to bring more animals out into the community and to children's facilities... PLUS we'd finally have the option of bringing children in wheelchairs to the sanctuary to work with the animals, something we've never had before. What a blessing!
