Cadet, MO - 2 Chained Craigslist Dogs - Owner Will Surrender - Dogs Not Being Fed - URGENTLY NEED FOSTERS ~CHIPIN~ (70)

Cadet, MO - 2 Chained Craigslist Dogs - Owner Will Surrender - Dogs Not Being Fed - URGENTLY NEED FOSTERS ~CHIPIN~ (70): "Cadet, MO - 2 Chained Craigslist Dogs - Owner Will Surrender - Dogs Not Being Fed - URGENTLY NEED FOSTERS ~CHIPIN~"

Luke and Annie. Both dogs are beautiful Pit Bull Terriers.  They are both a tan color.  The male is only 6 months old.  The female is around 3 years old.  They are both really good with kids but the female is only good around certain dogs.  She has been having to protect herself from stray and roaming dogs lately, so you can understand her frustration.  The male did fine around other dogs.  I brought them food today and even though they were really hungry, they were more excited about seeing me and my son.  They are both super people friendly and really cute with waggy tails.  They both need to be completely vetted (shots, fixed, heartworm tested, and desperately need flea and tick medication)  The female definitely needs spayed right away before she has any more puppies.  They need foster homes ASAP!

Tucker, GA - Lab Who Suffered For Years In A Backyard - AC Was Seeking Criminal Charges - Now Dog Is Being Returned To Owners!!!

PLEASE CROSSPOST

From Advocate, Kendra (whispernova@aol.com):
(if you would like updates on this case, please email Kendra and asked to be added to the mail list for this particular case, she is being inudated with emails and threads but would like to keep everyone informed)

We have heard that the chocolate lab that was neglected horribly by owners in Tucker is currently at Gwinnett Co Animal Hospital and awaiting treatment. The owners were notified by Animal Control originally to start a criminal case on them. Now they have gone from pressing charges on them ...to allowing them to get the dog back. I am appalled. The dog is getting surgery this evening and will then be released back to his selfish, cruel neglectful owners!!! We MUST RAISE HELL!!!! This dog has suffered years of abuse. He has maggots infested in neck and ears and a tumor oozing from his face! This did not happen over night!!!

We need to contact the following and tell them that we expect they enforce the law!!!

Please call right away....

Officer Chandler 404-294-2818
Kathy Mooneyham, Director of DCAC, Email: KJmooney@dekalbga.gov T: 404-294-2996
Burell Ellis, CEO Dekalb County, Email: ceo@dekalbga.us T: 404-371-2881

Thank you all for those who have contributed to his medical care. Your funds are very safe in a account right now and I will keep you updated.

This dog suffered in someone's back yard in isolation. He is heartworm positive, went several days at a time without food or water, is infested with maggots and more than likely, even with good medical treatment, will only have a year or two left because of the damage. I do NOT want those last few years spent back in that hell hole!!!!! He deserves the last years of his life in a home, with a family, with lots and lots of love. His owners......are not that! CALL!!!! ASK FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO CALL!!!!!

Thanks,

Kendra

Turkish Animal Rescue Org. - Animals in Need

We are dedicated to the welfare, sheltering and placement of homeless animals in Turkey. We are committed to educating the public about the humane treatment of animals, preventing animal cruelty and overpopulation and promoting animal welfare in Turkey.
Turkey has a huge population of stray dogs.. many are removed from populated areas by the municipality authorities to remote areas or forests where they struggle to survive.. no food, no water, in the summer extreme heat and in the winter freezing conditions.

Puppies are born in the forests .. very few live to adulthood .

Michelle: a miraculous rescue « MyLetsAdopt !

Michelle: a miraculous rescue « MyLetsAdopt !

Rally cars driving at incredible speed along narrow roads, hundreds of people on either side, enjoying the thundering noise.
Cheers, claps…
Then, the unexpected… Michelle, a beautiful German shepherd unexpectedly crosses the road. The impact is brutal, the car continues his course..

Get rid of that thing on the road, some said…
She got what she deserved, someone screamed in the background.
A policeman appears, protects his delicate hand with a plastic bag and drags Michelle heavily pregnant body across the road and dumps the body behind a garbage container.
Cheers, claps…
Is this how the story ends? Not really… this is just the beginning…
On Monday morning, Diana Zhikova, director of Let’s Adopt Bulgaria watched the video on the internet and did what NOBODY did until then. She cared.

Help needed for two abandoned puppies

Jacksonville, FL– Two puppies, down on their luck – sickly and abandoned, were rescued just days ago.

The pups, now being called Hansel and Gretel, were discovered in a Wal-Mart parking lot…scavenging for tidbits of food in the trash.

The abandoned little souls – obviously suffering from mange, had nowhere to go. But when the London Sanctuary heard about their plight, founder Jay Cannaday sprang into action.

White Plains, NY: Is there a rescue angel out there for this poor dog? Babs, a young dog grows up behind bars..

White Plains, NY– Valentine’s Day 2010 was not a day of roses and love for a dog named Babs. Instead, it was the day this beautiful dog became a resident at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter.
Yes, well over a year ago, a dog that was just a puppy at the time went into a shelter facility …and she has never left.
Babs is beautiful, healthy, and friendly – but her life is passing by while she sits behind bars…away from the love of a companion…away from grass to roll in…away from the warmth of the sun.
What must this young dog feel? In the beginning there was likely a mixture of dismay over being put into a cage. But still, hope that someone would see the obvious mistake and let her out…
But the days turned into weeks. The weeks rolled into months – and that mistake was never realized.
The eagerness for a chance to get out and stay out would fade – because in the end, Babs always goes back into her cage – alone.
Babs is not living. Babs merely exists and she deserves so much more. It’s time for Babs to leave her caged home – it’s time for her to join a real family and learn about sunshine, running, chasing a ball, walking by the side of her guardian – living and loving.
Information on Babs:
  • ID #5435
  • 1.5 years of age
  • Good with people
  • Good with other dogs
  • Very sweet
  • Deaf
Individuals interested in adopting this beautiful dog are asked to contact: dabandolo@aol.com.
Individuals looking for assistance with a shelter pull, transportation or temporary foster until transportation can be arranged are asked to contact Karen White, (972) 823-8056 or (914) 761-0305.
Everyone can help Babs. Please share her story – her rescue angel is out there right now – they just don’t know it yet.
Hang in there Babs – your real life will begin soon.

Angola: Luanda to Have Animal Sheltering Centre

Luanda - The first sheltering centre for stray dogs and cats is being built in Cacuaco district in Luanda since the end of 2010.

This was said to Angop on Thursday by the provincial director of Urbanism and Construction Department, Torres Bunga. According to him, the country will have for the first time a public infrastructure in 2011 aimed at
looking after stray animals.

Torres Bunga stated that the infrastructure aims at guaranteeing services for local veterinarians, conditions of detaining stray animals, and thus fight against rabies and safeguard these species

NJ ~ "PATRICK" ~ PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ~ Scam Warning & Copyright Infringements!

Scammers Trying to Profit from Rescued Abused Dog (Patrick)

NEWARK, NJ – The saga of Patrick, a pit bull, who is making a miraculous recovery after being starved nearly to death and thrown from the chute of a 19th floor apartment before being rescued by Associated Humane Societies has captured much attention from the media and the general public.
Unfortunately, the story has also intrigued some who are using Patrick's plight to scam money from unsuspecting victims. Now there are organizations, individuals, various entities that are collecting on behalf of Patrick or in his name. Some groups/individuals are selling t-shirts, artwork, etc. with his likeness, etc. or the funds are used for out-of-state shelters with the donor believing that they will help Patrick.
Associated Humane Societies took in an emaciated dog, hours from death, on March 16th. It took us most of the day to stabilize the dog. The Associated Humane Societies brought the dog to Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Tinton Falls for round the clock care.
Patrick is still recuperating at Garden State Veterinary Specialists and is making a slow and steady recovery.
"The story of Patrick alone is heartbreaking, but the fact that people are trying to profit from this travesty is just despicable," said Associated Humane Societies Executive Director Roseann Trezza.
"The Associated Humane Societies has not received any funds from such fund raisers for Patrick. We urge those who are concerned about Patrick and his future, to log on to the Society's website at www.ahscares.org. There is also a daily update on Patrick's Progress."
Well-meaning animal lovers should be aware of these types of scams and only make donations to organizations that directly support animals, such as AHS. When in doubt check out websites that evaluate nonprofit agencies like Charity Navigator or call the Department of Consumer Affairs in their county.
Meantime, anyone who wishes to help in Patrick's treatment can make donations on his behalf or any of the injured animals that regularly come through the Societies' doors through its ResQ Fund, a restricted fund to help offset the expenses of animals requiring special care.
To learn more about ResQ Fund and any of the other ways to donate to Associated Humane Societies, log on to www.ahscares.org.
NOTE: Digital images and photos are available only upon request. These pictures are proprietary to the Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park. No one has the right to use these or reproduce these pictures.
All photos of Patrick have now been copyrighted.
North East Animal Rescue Inc. They actually informed us this morning, that "a guy called up Bruce, demanding a clearer picture because the one he has is showing up fuzzy on the shirts he's making." ~ Hence they have now copyrighted ALL photos of Patrick.

The husband was going to give him to me because the neighbors call the cops because of his barking. When I called back the wife wanted me to buy him. Now they  won't talk to me at all.

Dallas, TX - Chained, No Shelter, Good Sam Feeding and Watering BEAUTIFUL Blue Pit - NEED FOSTER ASAP

PLEASE CROSSPOST
CONTACT DOGS DESERVE BETTER'S SHANNON AT RESCUE@DOGSDESERVEBETTER.ORG

DDB was contacted by a concerned citizen who has been watching this dog live in solitude with no attention from her owners.  No shelter, no attention, no food, no water.  The neighbor as been taking care of her food and water.

She does have an owner so we are trying to secure a surrender agreement.  The concerned citizen is willing to speak to the owners because DDB does not have a rep in that area.

IF we can get her surrendered, she will need a place to go immediately.  A lot of the details are up in the air but we may need a local short term foster who can keep her and get her to the vet (DDB will pay for all vetting) while we arrange transport to a more permanent foster home if not local.

This sweet girl is about 2 years old and very friendly.

If you can help please contact me, Shannon, at rescue@dogsdeservebetter.org
