HELP NEEDED FOR 17 YR-OLD CHILD AND HER BLIND DOG

Buddy and a friend
Houston, TX - The story of Buddy, a 7 yr-old Labrador Retriever and his person, a 17 yr-old girl, is heartbreaking.
In November, the child's father died - leaving her with no family...at least not locally.
Buddy has been this girl's companion since she was just ten years of age.
Now, Buddy and his girl are without anyone.
Family of the child is taking the girl in this coming January - but they live in Switzerland. Buddy will not be able to go with his girl.
The 17 yr-old has reached out to the Blind Dog Rescue Alliance (BDRA) for help. She wants to know that her dog will have a safe place to call home before she leaves.
Unfortunately, the rescue does not have an available foster home for Buddy at this time.
The rescue still wants to help this child who has already lost so  much - they are reaching out to help find a safe place for Buddy.
This girl has lost her father - she will be losing her home, her friends, her school - everything that is familiar to her.
Last, but probably furthest from the least - her best friend, Buddy.
Please help find Buddy a loving home before this child leaves - please help give her the one thing that will provide her with the gift of peace of mind.
Questions/offers of help can be emailed to: Gina at  gina950@yahoo.com

Elsie in Allentown, PA...the picture of despair

Elsie at Lehigh County Humane Society

Elsie has been at the Lehigh County Humane Society in Allentown, Pennsylvania since March, 2011 and her time is up. She has become so depressed, she spends her time sleeping with her nose positioned at the edge of the kennel. It’s as if she is waiting for someone to save her.
“She is a favorite among LCHS staff, but will require some training. Her happy personality keeps everyone in the shelter smiling.”
Today, Elsie is sad. Please share her story in hopes that someone will give this beautiful dog the loving home she so deserves.

Lucy is an 11 year old sheperd mix. She was lost from her home for over 3 weeks, and when found she had been hit by a car. She had many problems, including a shattered leg, blood infection and liver failure. She was emaciated. Her family has been trying to nurse her back to health and all of her problems except one have been resolved: they have been unable to raise enough money for an amputation of Lucy's destroyed front leg.

Lucy's leg is necrotic, meaning the limb is dead. There is gangrene and an infection. So her people are constantly changing her bandages and struggling to keep an e-collar on her, to prevent her from chewing on her leg. Because she cannot feel pain there anymore.

The infection and gangrene are life threatening. The surgeon was to amputate in a few days, so we need to act quickly.

IMOM's email address for direct Paypal donations is paypal@imom.org. Be sure to let us know who your donation is for.

Thank you very much.

Burned with Acid - dumped in the Burgos perrera!

Burgos 4 250 12 2011

A while ago, animal volunteers in Burgos area, which I have travelled through and is a mass of half finished apartment blocks and huge cranes - a building site - heard that it is difficult to adopt out of the Burgos perrera. Immense ignorance, lack of information, lack of compliance with the law, the carelessness.... on 9th November this galga arrived, starving, normal for a dog abandoned on the street.

But Galgos del Norte got in there and this is what they found....(click on Lee Mas under the Salva story

The diagnosis of the vet, words cannot describe her suffering - BURNED by acid.... and this dog was just left in the kennels in the municipal kennels without treatment.
Finally, she is currently hospitalized in the protectora of Burgos, and they need to move her to a home to recover.

Galgos del Norte will try to heal her and arrange an adoption. By the way, we have called her Salva.

Who has been responsible for this savagery?
